Butterfly block

Abbreviation:

sl st = slip stitch

ch= chain

sc= single crochet

dc= double crochet

rep= repeat

bet= between

sp= space

st= stitch

What you will need:

Yarn

Crochet hook

Scissors 

Tapestry needle

(1&2) with colour A, magic ring, ch 3 (count as the first dc), 2 dc, ch 2 (first corner) *(3 dc, ch2)* rep from * to * until you have 7 corners, 3 dc , ch 2 , sl st in the 3^rd ch (8 corners) 

 (3) sl st until u reach the centre of the first corner (ch2-space) , ch 3 , 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in the same sp, next corner *[ 3 dc, ch 2 , 3 dc ] , rep bet *[ ] in each ch2-space .

 (4) sl st in the 3^rd ch (8 corners)

 (5) ch1, sc in the same space, *(ch2,4 dc,picot,4 dc ch2)*, sc in the next space, rep from * to * to the end of round , sl st on the first sc . (picot: see picture above) 

(6) do not break yarn until u join the circle into half with sl st (blue dots), break yarn and weave in ends. 

(7) butterfly created.

(8) Make sure u crochet in the (inner side) of the butterfly.

(9) with colour B , join yarn in the (upper corner) see picture, ch 3=1^st dc , 3 dc , ch 2, 4 dc, ch1, 3 dc in the (ch2-sp)  see picture

(10)  in the next (ch2-sp) work 3dc, (ch1, 4 dc,ch 2, 4dc) in the next corner, rep. 

(11) sl st until u reach the corner, ch3= 1st dc, 3 dc ,ch2, 4dc, ch1,3dc, ch1,  rep round  as picture (10) .. join with sl st , break yarn, weave in ends

(12) with colour C, join yarn, ch1, sc in the same sp, sc in each st , corners work 3sc , rep.

(13 &14) with colour B, join with sl st, ch 1 , sc in the same sp, sc in each st, 3sc in corners, rep 

(15) this is how the block looks after weaving the ends.

(16) butterfly body: ch20, insert the chain from side to the another, join with sl st in the 7^th ch from the hook, ch 6 , break yarn

And you are done J
